Professional Practice
For 25 years I practiced law with a leading Canadian and international
law firm, Fasken Martineau, primarily in its Toronto office but also
for three years in its office in London, England (1990 to 1993). I was
a general corporate and M&A lawyer and in the late 1980s led an
international team (Canada, UK and US) that successfully completed the
largest hostile take-over bid in the worldwide wine and spirits
industry. I founded the firm's Computer & Technology Law Group in
1985, and today it is one of Canada's leading computer/IT specialty
groups. (Click here for a professional bibliography indicating the
legal topics on which I have written and lectured.)
